Masuda’s story is one of strength and achievement. She was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and faced many obstacles after moving to the U.S. She earned a Sociology degree with a focus on Social Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her life experiences drive her commitment to advocacy, especially in education and empowering women. As President of Change Makers of the World, USA, she has dedicated over 20 years to ensuring that Afghan girls have access to education, even in difficult situations. Her hard work has been recognized by the U.S. Congress for her commitment to building self-confidence, education, and empowerment.
In 2005, Masuda became Mrs. Afghanistan, standing strong against Taliban threats to represent Afghan women globally. Her memoir, Pain to Power: My Journey from Afghanistan to America in Pursuit of Freedom, tells her story of escape, survival, and her ongoing fight for justice and opportunities for others.
